A system prompt and a chat box is a demo. Claycable agents can hold memory across sessions, keep a calendar, read and write your files, run code, and browse the live web — the parts that make an assistant actually useful instead of just articulate.
Install first, tune later
Most people don't want to train a model before they've even used one. The marketplace lets you install a ready-made agent — Amara for day-to-day operating, Quill for turning a manuscript into a full-cast audiobook — and start immediately. Fine-tuning is there when you outgrow the default.

Where the name comes from
Clay is malleable — you take a general-purpose base model and shape it to fit an exact use case, the way clay takes the form of a mould. Cable is the loop connecting the pieces: data in, training, testing, reshaping, and back around. The platform grew from that fine-tuning core into a full agent marketplace, but the name stuck.
